TickPlay Troubleshooting Guide

Common TickPlay problems on Apple Watch and the steps that resolve them.

Quick answer: Most TickPlay problems fall into four groups: the app is not installed on the watch, the transfer cannot find the computer, a file will not play because its format is unsupported, or the watch is out of storage. Each has a specific fix listed below.

If something goes wrong

The app does not appear on my Apple Watch
Open the Watch app on the paired iPhone, find TickPlay, and confirm it is installed. If it did not install automatically, scroll to Available Apps in the Watch app and tap Install.
The app is not responding or crashes
Press the Digital Crown to return to the watch face and reopen the app. If that does not help, restart the watch by holding the side button and sliding to power off. Confirm watchOS is up to date in the Watch app under General, then Software Update. As a last resort, delete and reinstall the app.
The Download tab finds no server
Check that the watch and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network, that the HTTP file server is still running, and that the address is correct. Guest networks and client isolation can block the connection.
A transfer stops before it finishes
Completed files are kept. Scan the server again and only the missing files are downloaded.
A file is on the watch but will not play
The container is probably one that TickPlay can store but not decode. See the supported formats guide for the playable list.
Lyrics are missing
The .lrc file must have the same base name as the track. Check the name and the encoding.
The watch says it is out of storage
Raise the storage quota in Settings, or clear the cache to reclaim space immediately.
Music stops when I lower my wrist
This should not happen — TickPlay supports background audio. Confirm Bluetooth headphones are connected and that the track is playing from the watch library rather than from the phone.
